Someguild Recruitment Policy and Procedures

Ground Rules

  • Someguild does not recruit players from opposing factions on servers that we have a presence in.
  • Recruits should not expect to attend progression raids unless they are the best of the best and earn their way into an open spot. This means you know your class, possess strong situational awareness, have a solid internet connection, review your performance and look for ways to improve, and have a team-first attitude.
  • Someguild does not recruit players who are raiding in other guilds at the same time. We're not here to gear up your alts and we don't want to be in a situation where we need someone and they aren't available because they're raiding with a different guild on another character that night. You can have characters in a twink guild though, and bank alts are of course fine.
  • Nor will we recruit any player with a history of dishonorable and/or disrespectful behavior. Drama=bad.
  • As a general rule, we do not accept applicants under the age of 18. Our guild chat could make a sailor blush at times and is far from appropriate for minors.

Your application is one of the most important parts of the recruitment process. It is a major factor for us in deciding if you are a good fit for Someguild and whether you will move on to the second part of the process. Applications that are incomplete or lacking in content will be declined immediately.

2) After the post is completed, Someguild members will have the opportunity to ask some follow-up questions in order to get to know the applicant better and also to fill any potential information gaps in the initial application. This process can typically last about one week. In the meantime, we suggest that the applicant attempt to meet other Someguild members in-game so they can get to know you.

3) The Someguild Recruitment Officer(s) will create a 'Potential New Recruit' post in the Members section, about the applicant. To the extent members are familiar with the applicant, they should post opinions on him/her one way or another. The applicant must have several Someguild members provide positive feedback for him/her in order to become a Recruit. However, negative feedback can extend or even terminate the recruiting process. If we feel that the applicant is not Someguild material we will inform them of our decision and close their application thread.

4) If accepted, the applicant will be invited to the guild as a Recruit. The Recruit will be given access to our member forums and commence a probationary membership in Someguild.

5) During the probationary period, Someguild members are encouraged to get to know the Recruit and make a judgment on his/her potentially becoming a full member.

It is the recruit's duty to get involved with the guild as much as possible (i.e. join us in Ventrilo, participate on our forums, Quest/Raid/PvP with Someguild members, etc.).

6) After a period of time, typically one month, the Recruit can be promoted to a Member provided:
a) there are no overriding reason to reject the Recruit;
b) the Recruit has gotten positive feedback;
c) the leadership approves of the promotion.

Applying:

1) When you post your first message on our boards, which is often your guild application, it will not immediately show up. We have anti-spam measures in place, so your first message will need to be approved. It will usually be approved within a few hours of your posting it.

2) If possible, make your account on these forums using the same name as your main character name in WoW, that you are applying with. This will make your forum posts clearer, if you are accepted into the guild.
